My Name Isn't Somebody Nobody

My daughter doesn't seem to realize this. Every day the two of us are at home alone & I hear, "Can Somebody wipe my butt?" If I ever dare to correct her about anything I also hear tearful shouts of, "Somebody is being mean!" or a sing-song version of "Somebody is yelling at me." and "Nobody doesn't love me at all!" Does everyone else have one kid that they just don't understand? One kid that is quite embarrassing a lot of the time? Or is it just me?

Are you looking for a cure? Maybe you could invite the mail carrier in and have that somebody wipe her!!

Ha! That would be nice for a change!

I can't think of any two kids that are more distinctly like their opposite-gender parent. Maybe you don't understand her because she's so much more like Craig than you? That said, I bet that as they get older, some mannerisms of the other parent show up. You know, based on my experience as a geneticist. Did I spell that right?

I have one kid I don't really understand. That'd be Rebecca. I can't decide if we clash because we're too alike or too different...

Jenny, I'd guess that you are more different than alike. That can be good though. We just have to accept that we don't get them & then enjoy the ride. You have to admit it is interesting!

hi there, my first born is way more intelligent than i am and i have a hard time keeping up to him. He used to refer to himself all the time..instead of saying "me" or "i" he would say Timothy. THen he also didn't refer to us as mom or dad but by our real names! People used to look at him askance..but we were used to it.
