I felt like I had regressed to my own school days when I discovered that school was cancelled today. In fact, I was excited and happy and Micah struggled not to cry! I started thinking about what we did growing up when school was cancelled. I remember mom making playdo and Seth and I happily occupying ourselves for hours.
Playdo
2 CP All-Purpose Flour
1 CP Salt
2 TB Cream of Tartar
1/4 CP Oil
2 CP Water with choice of food coloring
Mix dry ingredients together. Mix liquid ingredients together.
Mix all together in a pan and heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until a ball forms and comes away from side.
Not yet playdo.
Playdo!
I have made playdo before, but they don't remember.
They are fascinated and all fighting has ceased for the time being. Yes! Mission accomplished. Oh, and it smells and feels just like I remember it!

sorry to mess things up..happy day!
I want to make play doh for the kids too but they have some to use up first but so it's a project that will just have to wait a little bit longer.
have you ever made peanut butter playdoh? my kids love it. it's edible, (a plus for jonna, she still eats the store bought stuff..yuck!) and you can use stuff to "decorate" it with that's edible too...m&m's, marshmellows... it's fun to stick toothpicks into...too
Looks like fun... I've asked this other places, but thought I'd see what you think... do you have problems with the food coloring staining anything or does the cooking take care of that?
no food coloring stains, so i guess the cooking must help with that.
Your such a good mom!!
found it. :)
