So Ayla has been throwing up off & on since spring break. Turns out the culprit is not food like I was thinking (yea!!), but worms (yuck!!) Anyway, I'm mostly relieved. I was really thinking we'd have to cut out a bunch of foods. Instead we'll just have to take some special drops & do lots of laundry. Then hopefully I won't have to watch my girl be sick on a regular basis!

What a relief to finally know what the problem is! It's hard on Moms when kids are sick and you don't know what it is.
Glad to know what it is and can get rid of it. Poor baby. She'll be relieved to stop puking.
Poor girl! It's always a relief to find the cause isn't it?
Poor Girl :(( Glad you know what's going on now . . . take care.
What do you mean - "just worms"? *faints again*
Yikes, how do you get worms??? It is good that it is treatable, but I haven't heard of kids having worms, just our dog:)What are the signs??? Caden will throw up periodically for no reason. We thought it was chocolate milk.
tam - kids can definitely get it from dogs! they can also get it very easily from other kids, from eating food from an infected person, etc. it's hard to know how they get it, but it's common in the preschool set. the normal signs are an itchy bottom (mostly at night), tummy ache that gets worse with certain foods & with ayla it always got worse when she was upset, throwing up, you can have a fever. the symptoms can be different depending on what else you have going on in your body.
yikes...what drops? wormwood?
haha ethel! no, we got drops from an acupuncturist we went to. it's some kind of energy work.
Awhile back, I was convinced we all had pinworms so I convinced the doctor over the phone and he gave me a prescription for the medicine. Expensive stuff. And it's sitting in our medicine cabinet, because, of course, we didn't have them. I did a lot of laundry making sure, though. Anywayz... I know you like to take more natural cures, but if you're interested, I have some medicine you can use.
Mindy- I have an award for you, waiting back at my blog!
