I'll post more photos later. Hopefully this weekend sometime.
- Ayla got herself up at 6:30 this morning to help me finish decorating her cupcakes for school. For the record, I only let her decorate the extras. I didn't think anyone at school would want to eat frosting applied by a knife that was repeatedly licked clean. Not that they would know, but still. I do have some standards.
- Does anyone else not buy their kids a birthday present? I figure the made to order (almost) cakes, sleepover & general fuss make up for it. Not to mention the fact that they get plenty of gifts from family.
This year we had to have strawberry cupcakes, pink frosting, sprinkles (found some hiding in the way back part of the cupboard) and rings on top. Since there were no rings lurking in the back of the cupboard I drew the line there.
- By the way, those cupcakes? To die for. It's a good thing most of them went to school. I'm thinking they will be even more wonderful come strawberry season.
- It's a good thing birthdays only come once a year. I think that's all the extreme excitement I can handle. I just hope that today lives up to her expectations!
- Here's one more photo from last week's early celebration.

Kylie did that last year for her birthday - liked the knife each time she frosted a cupcake :)
well, at least now you can go straight to the bathroom without leaving your bedroom :)
haha! craig is hoping to pick justin's brain about the plumbing while you guys are here. now you're forewarned & can decide not to come if you want!
I'm sure she'll remember the party better than she would remember her gift anyway. To bad about the mold :(
yeah the mold is disgusting, but at least we are re-doing the bathroom now. it really needed it. i just about died when i saw the inside of the wall & the floor under the carpet in that corner. that's where kaia's bed was her first year of life!!!
we don't really buy them presents either. last year we bought nolan a bike in may. we called it his birthday present. (his birthday is in june) we bought avrie a bike in november (her birthday is in august) and called it her present. i'm sure my parents bought us presents....but i have no memory of a single one other than my 13th, which was a hotel weekend with my girlfriends.
Hey Mindy, what ya otta do for Ayla is take her to a... well... some sort of fun day... like the Fun Day! She will have lots of help celebrating! :) See ya 2morrow! Oh, and Craig can stay home to work on the mold problem! JK!
yeah, the fun day was perfectly timed. it'll be like a party for her & i didn't even have to plan it! see you tomorrow.
Where does Seth live now? It's so great he's able to be over so often. And the cupcakes sound wonderful!
kara - seth is in IA city. it's only about a 5 hour drive! but i do think it's our turn to make the drive. hopefully in a couple of weeks & we'll also see michelle when she's home.
